MIN= C F THE ARDEN HILLS PARKS & RDCREATICN 030C'ITEE <br /> TUE'SDAY, OCICBER 27, 1992, 7:30 P.M., CITY HAIL <br /> • CALL TO CODER: <br /> The regular meeting of the Arden Hills Parks and Recreation Ctznini_ssion was called <br /> to order at 7:33 P.M. by Chair David Sand. <br /> RC LL CALL <br /> Present: Chair David Sand, Mark Labine, Bill Guelker, Lynette Kreidler, Mark <br /> Magers, Mary Gillies, Don Messerly, Alan Mortgmlety, and Megan Ricke. <br /> Absent: Mark Literski and David Moberg. <br /> Also Present: CbL=il Liaison, Dale Hicks; Cynthia Severtson, Program Supervisor; <br /> and John Buckley, Park Director. <br /> APPROVAL CIE' MINT : <br /> P.icke moved/seconded by Iabine that the August 25, 1992, Minutes were approved as <br /> mailed. Motion carried. <br /> COUNCIL REPCRT <br /> Status of the City Hall/Public Works referendum <br /> - reviewed the diagrams of the arsenal site, proposed City Hall, <br /> proposed public works facility. <br /> - public attitude toward referendum and building projects. <br /> • - Council adoption of 1993 budget. <br /> - recognition of the flower volunteers. <br /> PROGRAM REPCI2T <br /> - Fall program has been going smothly. <br /> - Keyboard classes are filled. <br /> - Fall soccer program was popular with participants. Two <br /> soccer fields at Oxrmings Park work out well. <br /> - Afternoon and Evening classes are being scheduled at the <br /> Army Reserve Center. The arrangement has been very positive. <br /> The Reserve Center has been very cooperative in the use of <br /> the center and visual aid equipment. <br /> 1992 PARK DEVEIDPHENr <br /> Buckley reported: <br /> - Engineer Mark Graham inspected the Valentine Park and Perry <br /> Park sites for proposed grading and improvement. <br /> - Valentine Park will always be wet after heavy rains - the <br /> majority'of the neighborhood storm water passes through <br /> Valentine Park as it flows toward Valentine Lake. Pemoving <br /> the silt frcan the ditches will help direct more water toward <br /> the lake. The ditch repair can be done with City crews. <br /> - Regrading Perry Park lower fields will be an expensive <br /> project. Buckley rec=ended that this imUrovement be delayed <br /> . until future arsenal sports fields are finalized. <br /> Sand moved/seconded by Iabine that major 1Tq=vemTts at Perry and proposed new <br /> field at Hazelnut be delayed Lentil the arsenal corplex is finalized. Motion <br /> carried. <br />
