Council Liaison, Dale Hicks; <br /> Cynthia Severtson, Program Supervisor; and John Buckley, Park Director. <br /> APPRC�L CAE' MIN[TrF� <br /> April 28 1992, Minutes were approved as mailed. Motion carried. <br /> Mates v� T�s P�,RFrrr�s x�ea�r- <br /> Nancy Iran ar�d Roger Hickman reported that Mounds View Hick Tennis parents are <br /> raising money for the construction of new tennis courts at MotuxLs View High. Reason <br /> for new courts are: The High School presently has only four cx�urts. Other schools <br /> will not play High School tennis matches at Mrxux3s View because of lack of courts <br /> • for varsity matches ar�d courts are badly in need of repair. Present courts are laid <br /> out east and west making play difficult due to the sun. <br /> Option #1 8 courts $280,000 <br /> Option #2 7 courts $255,000 <br /> Fund Raising Progress to date: <br /> - Light Brigade has pledged $92,500 in matching funds toward the <br /> tennis project. <br /> - School Board is favorable toward cc��letirig the project - <br /> School District will provide some futxis toward the new oourt's. <br /> Other local charities ar�d service clubs are beirx� asked to <br /> support the project. <br /> - Ms. Iran and Mr. Hicl�nan ask financial support frcan the Park <br /> Depar-tme�zt. <br /> $26,625 is allocated in 1993 for a single tennis court at Ingerson Park. 1"he Park <br /> CbmTnittee would be interested in rrriing that this money be directed toward the <br /> Nlourr�s View courts if: A joint powers agreement with the School District could <br /> address the following concexns: <br /> - Guarantee City use of courts during non-school use. <br /> - School District responsible for maintenance of carts and lighting. <br /> - School District responsible for enex�y cost. <br /> Ricke moved, seconded by Kreidler that John Buckley negotiate a joint powers <br /> agreement with the School District before the Committee makes a remotion to <br /> the Council.
