MINUTES (�' � ARDIId FIIISS PARKS AND RDC�TICN �IITFF�E. 8-25-92 <br /> Page Three <br /> • PF�M REPCgtT• <br /> Cindy Severtson Reported: <br /> - Zhe Sir Playgrourxi program was held at 5 City parks; Arden Manor, <br /> CunmLuzgs, Floral, Hazelnut and Perry parks. The 1992 program <br /> enrollment increased by 49 participants over 1991. <br /> Ntunber of Participants: Morning 82 <br /> Afternoon 99 <br /> Total 181 �ripared to 132 in 1991. <br /> - Special events were held on Fridays and included the Penny Carnival. <br /> Ntunbex of Participants: 174 Friday trips <br /> 200 Penny Carnival <br /> - Participant nwnbers contirnze to increase. The largest are as follows: <br /> T-Ball 150 <br /> Softball 164 <br /> Tennis 150 <br /> - Fall Soccer league started September 12. This is a 2nd Year program <br /> the response has been very favorable. Arden Hills has 106 participants <br /> this year playing on 8 teams. <br /> - This fall the Recreation Department will have the opportunity to use <br /> a classrocgn and the cafeteria at the new Arden Hills U.S. Army Reserve <br /> Center. The facility does have a number of restrictions thus, we will <br /> be using it mainly on Wednesday and 'Thursday evenings only. <br /> . - Please see the attached memo on Safety Camp. Should you have any <br /> questions or conceals, please feel free to contact me. <br /> PARK TRAIL REPC�2T: <br /> A new multi color trail map will be printed in the near future. Zhe map will be <br /> easy to read; Parks and trails will be readily identified. <br /> BLS: <br /> Light Brigade, St. Marys Church, St. Paul Turners, and Concordia Singing Society <br /> (four charities operation out of Pot of Gold Bingo Hall) have contributed $1000 each <br /> taaard the payment of the present Street B��zners arxi purchase of new seasonal <br /> baruiea^s. <br /> Mark Magers ar�d Lynette Kreidler volunteered to work with County Read E Business <br /> representatives to select additional banners. <br /> �2D I,APIDSCAPING RDOOQ�TI'I'ICB�t• <br /> Don N1e_sserly volunteered to narrate a video recognizing Arden Hills properties that <br /> have attractive, creative landscaping. Don's son, CY�-is will assist by operating <br /> the camera. <br /> NEB MEETING <br /> • Next Park Commission meeting will be September 22, 1992. <br /> Meeting adjourned at 9:50 PM. <br />
