Motion carried. COUNCIL REPORT Co uici]membex Dale Hicks reported. City's Truth in Taxation Hearing was held on November 18. 'There will be no increase in taxes in 1992. Therefore, a small groom of citizens attended the meeting. The citizens expressed no major concerns relating to 1992 taxes. The Mayor and Council are discussing potential City use of the new Training Center with Army Reserve officials. Little progress has been made regarding use of the Center. pR OGRm REPORT Cynthia severtson reported she is continuing efforts to develop programs for Chippewa Middle school. The school is scmnewhat reluctant but great strides have been made. She will continue her efforts in obtaining programs at Chippewa Middle School. Ice skating lessons start in January. Session have been added due to the increase in numbers last season. A number of ski trips and various other trips have been planned for children during vacation days frcan school. See the brochure for details. The Winter Brochure is out and will be delivered this week. • I am running a few programs at St. odelia this winter. The principal is very pleased we are offering after school programs for their students. Please feel free to call Cindy if you have cmukents or questions on any programs. MISCELLANEOUS Omnittee members expressed interest in developing a Parks and NEW BLISII4ESS Recreation Department Mission Statement. Buckley presented Mission Statements from.the Plymouth, Roseville, Maplewood, Inver Grove Heights, and New Brighton Parks and Recreation Departments. Arden Hills Parks and Recreation Department goals and objectives were also presented to the Ccarnni_ttee. Ccmittee members are asked to review the statements and be prepared to write a Mission Statement at their January meeting. Buckley stated there will be no Committee meeting in December. He thanks the members for serving on the Ccuinittee in 1991 and urged them to continue serving on the Ccmrnnittee in 1992. C=Rittee members will be contacted by phone to poll their interest in 1992.
