MINI= CF THE ARDEN HTT•TR PARRS & RECREATION ccmmr rF.E <br /> TUESDAY, JANUARY 26, 1993, 7:30 P.M., CITY HALL <br /> • CALL TO Ci2DER <br /> The first meeting of 1993 of the Arden Hills Parks and Recreation Ccu fission was <br /> called to order at 7:35 P.M. by Chair Dave Sand. <br /> RC1LL CALL: <br /> Present: Chair Sand, Bill Guelker, Lynette Kreidler, Mark Labine, Mark Literski, <br /> Mark Magers and Megan RLcke. <br /> Absent: Mary Gillies, Don Messerly, Alan Montgcuery and Dave Moberg. <br /> Also Present: Councilmember Beverly Aplikowski, Cynthia Severtson, Program <br /> Sq:)ervisor; and John Buckley, Park Director. <br /> CACTI CF CFFICE: <br /> Councilmember Beverly Aplikowski gave the oath of office to Park Ccmittee members. <br /> iAIICCME <br /> Chair Sand welcc ned members to the cmmittee. <br /> APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br /> November 24, 1992, Minutes were approved as mailed. Motion carried. <br /> • CCUNCIL REPORT: <br /> Councilmember Aplikowski reported: <br /> - Debate on reopening the Snelling/T.H. 51 intersection. <br /> - Disca_ssed Plowing Sidewalks. Lexington will be done this year pursuant to <br /> contract w/Shoreview. <br /> Next year discussion on expanding trails and other sidewalks. <br /> - Early discussions are ongoing re: Round Lake. <br /> - Council is still considering what to do about a new City Hall. <br /> - Council is still exploring Arsenal prospects. <br /> MISSION S ATEMERr <br /> The Mission Statement is printed in each issue of the Park & Recreation brochure. <br /> Chair Sand disuses the formation of the statement and some of the things we're <br /> doing to accanplish our mission. N rs believed the banners are beneficial. <br /> PROGRAM RE CRT <br /> Kate Huebsch will be soliciting feedback on the Recreation brochure. Severtson <br /> reported that expenditures as of 11/30/92 for the year 1992 were $49,489 which was <br /> $9,099 less than budgeted. The revenues were $80,988 which were $6,398 over <br /> estimated. <br /> Severtson advised that she hopes to keep program fees at current levels in 1993 to <br /> • ensure they are affordable. <br /> Severtson expressed a desire that any new facility could include a community room <br /> that some of her programs can use the room during the day and on weekends. <br />
