MINUTES <br /> CITY OF ARDEN HILLS, MINNESOTA <br /> PARKS & RECREATION COMMITTEE <br /> TUESDAY,JANUARY 23, 1996 <br /> 7:00 P.M. <br /> ARMY RESERVE CENTER <br /> CALL TO ORDER <br /> Megan Ricke called the meeting to order at 7:04 <br /> ROLL CALL <br /> Members present were: Lynette Kreidler, Louis Speggen, Mary Robinson, Don Messerly, <br /> Dorothy McClung, Anita Larson, Megan Ricke, Beverly Aplikowski, Council Liaison, <br /> Tracy Petersen, Program Supervisor and Cindy Walsh, Parks & Recreation Director. <br /> Members absent were: Maureen Bodene <br /> APPROVE MINUTES <br /> • The Minutes were recorded by Julie Tostenson. The December 12, 1995 Minutes were <br /> approved by Dorothy McClung and Seconded by Lynette Kreidler. <br /> AGENDA ITEMS <br /> Valentine Hills School Play Structure (PTA request for donation) <br /> There was a discussion on how much the Committee should recommend to the Council <br /> for donation. It was stated,that we should not recommend the full amount of the request, <br /> everyone agreed. Would the money come out of the Park Fund? It was stated that <br /> instead of donating money, to donate a service, for example, landscaping. There was a <br /> motion made to recommend donating $500.00 or a service ($500.00 or under), under the <br /> circumstances that we do not have a lot of money and the City is trying to complete their <br /> projects and all play structures in our parks need to be replaced. This motion was <br /> recommended by Dorothy McClung and seconded by Mary Robinson. <br /> Tony Schmidt Park Update <br /> McCarrons Park is the first priority for finishing, Tony Schmdit Park is the second <br /> priority. The Capital Improvement Advisory Committee takes a look at <br /> recommendations from all of the organizations in the County. There is also input from <br /> the County Manager and all of the Department Heads. With the two (2) <br /> recommendations,they take them to the County Commissioners. It was stated, that we <br /> have to keep the pressure on the County. The committee members decided to write a <br /> • letter to the Capital Improvements Advisory Committee.
