Walsh, Parks & Recreation Director <br /> SUBJECT: School District#621 Use of City Facilities and Maintenance Staff. <br /> City of Arden Hills Facilities that are used by District#621 <br /> The Mounds View School District has been using Charles Perry Park as their home field for the <br /> Mounds View High School Girls Fastpitch Softball for at least 10 years. They use this facility <br /> for both games and practices Monday through Friday, 3:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. (occasionally on <br /> Saturdays for tournaments) during the months of April and May. They also store equipment in <br /> the warming house. <br /> The City of Arden Hills currently does not charge the school district for the use of this facility. <br /> To my knowledge, District#621 has never made improvements to this facility or donated money <br /> • towards any improvements. <br /> City of Arden Hills Monetary Contributions to School District <br /> In 1993, The City of Arden Hills contributed $25,000 towards the addition of renovation of the <br /> Mounds View High School Tennis Courts. <br /> City of Arden Hills Maintenance Contributions to School District <br /> The Arden Hills park maintenance staff floods and maintains the ice rink at Mounds View High <br /> School. We have done this for 18 years without charging a fee. The rink is used by the high <br /> school physical education classes for broomball. It is maintained daily throughout the rink <br /> season, which is mainly the end of December through February. <br /> The City maintenance staff also assists with the purchase, installation and repairs of players <br /> benches etc. that are used by City programs. <br /> The City maintenance staff line and chalk a football field, in the area of the high school softball <br /> fields, for Gary Engen's Football Camp each summer. <br /> CSW\jt <br /> • <br />
