Walsh, Parks & Recreation Director �Vv <br /> SUBJECT: Agenda Topic Report <br /> Trail Maps <br /> I will bring color coded copies of our working trail plan to the meeting. Each Committee member <br /> will receive a copy, however, it is not in final form and will not be distributed to the public. <br /> Boulevard Tree Planting <br /> I have enclosed a copy of the existing City Ordinance relating to the planting of boulevard trees as <br /> well as a letter from a resident requesting that the City plant boulevard trees. The City Council <br /> asked the Parks and Recreation Committee to review the ordinance and recommend future policy <br /> options with regard to boulevard tree planting. <br /> • <br /> Tony Schmidt Park <br /> The Committee has asked that I invite Greg Mack, Ramsey County Parks and Recreation <br /> Director, to attend our September meeting. I have also invited County Commissioner, Dick <br /> Wedell, and Mark Nolan, the Parks and Recreation Commission Chairperson. The Committee <br /> should organize their thoughts to present to representatives from Ramsey County on September <br /> 26, 1995. <br /> Perry Park <br /> The Perry Park construction is on schedule and progressing rapidly. The contractor hopes to <br /> have the project finished in the fall. I will update you in more detail at the meeting. <br /> A $500 contribution was received from Scherer Brothers Lumber Company. A thank you letter <br /> will be available for Committee members to sign. <br /> Valentine Park <br /> The contractor working on County Road F blocked the storm water drainage area in the park the <br /> weekend of August 11-13. There was 2-3 feet of water in the park on Sunday evening the 13th. <br /> There was some damage to the warming shelter that is being repaired. The contractor will be <br /> billed for this damage. I will update you further at the meeting. Please call me if you have any <br /> questions. <br /> CSWNjt <br />
