MINUTES <br /> CITY OF ARDEN HILLS, MINNESOTA <br /> PARKS & RECREATION COMMITTEE <br /> TUESDAY, MARCH 28, 1995 <br /> 7:00 P.M. - 9:00 P.M. <br /> ARMY RESERVE CENTER <br /> (HWY 96 & LEXINGTON CLASSROOM) <br /> CALL TO ORDER <br /> Chair Megan Rieke called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. <br /> ROLL CALL <br /> Members present were: Chair Megan Rieke, Louis Speggen, Anita Larson, <br /> Lynette Kreidler, Dorothy McClung, Mary Robinson, Susan Keim, Council Liaison; Cindy <br /> Walsh, Parks & Recreation Director; and Tracy Petersen, Program Supervisor . Also <br /> present Don Messerly. Absent was Maureen Bodene, also Fran Holmes was unable to <br /> attend the meeting. <br /> • APPROVE MINUTES <br /> Minutes recorded by Mary Robinson. The minutes were approved, unanimously. <br /> AGENDA ITEMS <br /> Minutes <br /> Megan reviewed Committee minutes dating back to 1985 to look at actions and survey <br /> results regarding Perry Park usage and improvements needed. <br /> Lynette brought to the attention of the Committee about an organization who is <br /> attempting to develop a baseball team\league for kids over 15\16; however, there are not <br /> enough fields already to facilitate the existing programs. <br /> Louis also brought up his concerns about the reactions previously mentioned. He lives in <br /> the area and has previously played on those fields. Many teams over the years have left <br /> our softball leagues because of current park conditions. Something has to be done to <br /> improve these conditions. <br /> Dorothy has two concerns: <br /> l. What is the Committee for?; Committee has been and should be to focus <br /> • on these types of improvements and recommend solutions. <br />
