Page I of I
• Parrish, Aaron
From: Johnson, Cheryl [Cheryl.Johnson@CO.RAMSEY.MN.US]
Sent: Wednesday, November 13, 2002 2:25 PM
To: 'aaron.parrish@ci.arden-hills.mn.us'
Cc: Mack, Greg
Subject: Rice Creek North Regional Trail Master Plan Amendment
Aaron,
Attached is a proposed amendment that incorporates the wildlife corridor into the Rice Creek
North Regional Trail. The amendment follows the format Ramsey County has used in the past
to amend existing master plans. This proposed amendment was presented to the Ramsey
County Parks and Recreation Commission on November 12, 2002. Commission members
spoke in support of the amendment as proposed. I asked them to defer taking action until the
city of Arden Hills had an opportunity for further review.
I anticipate, based on our past conversations, that this will be an item of discussion at your
upcoming November 18, 2002, council workshop. I'd appreciate knowing the time of the
workshop. As I mentioned in my voicemail to you, the proposed amendment addresses the
city of Arden Hills concern about access into the primer/tracer site; however, I have not had an
opportunity to meet with representatives of the National Guard to discuss specifics of this
access. I expect that Commissioner Tony Bennett and I will be meeting with General Andreotti
and Colonel Lord to discuss vehicular access to the Rice Creek Corridor and the primer/tracer
site.
Please let me know if you have questions regarding the proposed amendment.
Greg Mack
Ramsey County Parks & Recreation
2015 North Van Dyke Street
Maplewood, MN 55109
651-748-2500
11/14/2002
