Buckley <br /> Council <br /> Maintain open communications with Council members through: <br /> - frequent contact with Council liaison. <br /> - written memos explaining and supporting requests for expenditures. <br /> - be available to appear before the Council for clarification (infor- <br /> mantional or explanational). <br /> - written reports for: <br /> diseased tree program <br /> summer programs <br /> youth and adult fee programs <br /> winter skating <br /> so that Council is knowledgeable of program philosophy, programs <br /> offered, and program participation. <br /> Parks and Recreation Committee <br /> Encourage Park Committee members' involvement in: <br /> - determining program philosophy and goals. <br /> - determining program activities and content. <br /> - rewrite and publish a gift and endowment pamphlet. <br /> • - develop a master plan for new park on North Snelling (North Heights <br /> Lutheran dedication). <br /> - continue working toward securing Arsenal property for athletic <br /> field complex. <br /> Develop Community Interest and Participation by: <br /> - promote and encourage neighborhood involvement in planning and <br /> developing neighborhood parks. <br /> - encourage citizen involvement in Park Cleanup and Arbor Day activities. <br /> - encourage citizens' watches to discourage park vandalism. <br /> Trail Development <br /> A special effort will be directed toward the maintenance and development <br /> of the pedestrian trails during 1985-86. <br /> - the agricultural lime surface on the Arden Trail will be graded <br /> every few weeks from April through October. <br /> - Trails with grass surfaces will be mowed every four weeks from April <br /> through October. <br /> - Benches will be installed along major trails. <br /> - Trail maps will be published semi-annually. <br /> Program Development <br /> Community Interest Survey will be distributed with the Town Crier this <br /> • fall. Results of survey will be evaluated by Parks Committee. <br />
