• Minutes of Regular Parks and Recreation Committee Meeting <br /> Page three <br /> Miscellaneous Business/New Business <br /> Arbor Day - Mulcahy related to the committee Finance Committee <br /> interest in Arden Hills ' sponsorship of an Arbor Day program. He <br /> suggested Parks Committee develop some program, possibly buying <br /> trees for resale to property owners for planting on boulevards , <br /> recommendations for best types of trees , publicity . Gillies sug- <br /> gested possibility of tieing Arbor Day program in with Parkway <br /> program. Buckley suggested tree planting, and dedication of <br /> Cummings Park be tied into program . Buckley will contact adjoin- <br /> ing villages for information about how they have conducted their <br /> Arbor Day programs . Study of Arbor Day program will be included <br /> in future agendas . <br /> Perry Park - Sather noted that there are two wash-outs 1n black- <br /> top , near field #4, 1n Perry Park ; Buckley will have them repaired . <br /> Park Fires - Sand noted that a youngster had , either carelessly <br /> or deliberately , caused a grass fire in Hazelnut Park recently ; <br /> Committee would like article in Town Crier asking residents <br /> adjoining parks to be alert for, and promptly report any unusual <br /> activities in park areas . <br /> • Committee Membership - Sather asked that he be removed from <br /> membership on this committee as of December 31 .
