Minutes of Parkway Study Committee Meeting <br /> Village of Arden Hills <br /> Tuesday , October 9 , 1984 <br /> Village Hall <br /> Call to Order <br /> The meeting was called to order by Acting Chair David Sand at 8 :45 p .m . <br /> Roll Call <br /> Present David Sand , Adele Anderson , Mary Gillies , Don <br /> Messerly , Tom Sather <br /> Absent - None <br /> Also Present - Bob Curtis , Councilmember Tom Mulcahy , Planner Orlyn <br /> Miller , Parks Director John Buckley <br /> Parkwa Stud <br /> Planner Mi er distributed an outline for preliminary discussion for <br /> the Committee to review. The written outline contained the proposed <br /> goal : <br /> Development of a City-wide parkway system in Arden Hills which , <br /> in addition to serving basic transportation needs , provides a <br /> pleasant environment for travel , offers exposure to natural <br /> . amenities and enhances the visual image of the Community . <br /> The outline also presented : <br /> - Parkway Study Objectives <br /> - Parkway Definition <br /> - Criteria for Selecting Parkway Routes <br /> - Point out Anticipated Problems <br /> (Parkway Study Attached ) <br /> Map Visual with Potential Gateways/Routes <br /> During the discussion of preliminary goals and objectives , Planner <br /> Miller also outlined Community gateways and potential parkway routes <br /> with the Committee : <br /> Potential Village Gateways : <br /> Lake Johanna Blvd . and County Road D <br /> Snelling and Highway 51 <br /> County Road E-2 and 35W <br /> County Road E and Lexington Avenue <br /> Highway 96 and Old Highway 10 <br /> Highway 96 and Hamline Avenue No . <br /> • County Road D and Lexington Avenue <br />
