Minutes of Parks and Recreation Committee kkeeting <br /> Page Two <br /> Council_ Report • <br /> The Ton; T,ulcahy Aiewo - <br /> * Sand was personally pleased and happy that the Council approved <br /> funding the Crepeau Park and Parkway feasibility study. Sand thinks <br /> it is a good change in direction. <br /> * Sara expressed his appreciation to Lesserly for, work he personally <br /> did. Also, he thanked hip, for the presentation given to the Council. <br /> * Messerly reported that he had worked out a wholesale plan with <br /> Bailey's Nursery and passed out a brochure for the Committee to re- <br /> view, resserly also mentioned that there has been some interest <br /> expressed for the organization of a Bird watching Club. <br /> 1' anagement Goal_Study <br /> After the 1°,anagement Goal Study had been reviewed by the Committee, a motion was <br /> ;ade by Otto, seconded by Kostishack, that the Committee accept the the Manage- <br /> ment Goals for 1984. Kotion carried unanimously. <br /> Nall Program Review arrj Approval <br /> +chile reviewing. the fall program tl,e following ideas were expressed: <br /> - Several members of the Committee expressed the need for a non-highly <br /> competitive basketball program. Buckley explained that it was poss- <br /> ible t'.iat they could still have it. <br /> - it was decide-- that they would invite a representative of the newly <br /> organized Youth Basketball Association to explain their program at <br /> the August meeting. . <br /> - A motion was m.wi.' by Otto, seconded by Klick, that the Committee <br /> would approve the fall program subject to reinstatement of the <br /> basketball pro-ran, after hearing from t ,e parents concerning the <br /> Mounds View Program. <br /> 1985 Budget <br /> During the reviewing of the budget some of the following items were brought up: <br /> - Sand wondered wry there was such a detailed break-down for the skatin . <br /> costs. Buckley said because it's easily defineable. <br /> - Kostishhaek questioned items 1'130 and #438 both dealing with Health <br /> Insurance ani yet the;,, are listed separately. <br /> Sand sri:? it looks like the pair: savings is that we won't have tc <br /> spend -rioney for a truck and. step, J; 1 should go down; because of t`e <br /> new e.,uipmento <br /> _ The Committee requester', a bigger bread:-down to inform then of the exact <br /> fees so they will know if they're meeting their expenses. Buckle; <br /> agreed that he'll Ave it ready at the next meetinng. <br /> The Committee corrrr:ended Buckley for keeping the costs so close to th:; <br /> budget of previous years. <br /> (The numbers referred to above are found in the Annual Budget.) <br /> Park Committee :ember Resignation T. <br /> Saul announced that Tim Tuggle resigned because of. his schedule.at work. The <br /> Collnittee would like to express their thanks for his time and talents spent on <br /> the Committee. it was decried that in the next Town Crier they will publicize <br /> the vacancy on the Park and Recreation Co,;s:ittee. <br />
