Anderson, M. Bergene, J. Dreyling, D. Halve, 0. Kostishack, <br /> P. Lippert, D. Sand, T. Sather <br /> Absent: C. Grudnoske, J. McTavish, M. Olson, M. Wild <br /> Also Present: Mayor R. Woodburn <br /> CouncllmE.n T. Mulcahy <br /> Parks Director J. T. Buckley <br /> Human Rights Commission Chair B. Kehrberg <br /> Arden Hills Resident B. Pollster <br /> Approval of Minutes <br /> Motion was made by T. Sather, secondad by P. Lippert, that the minutes of <br /> October 12 be approved as mailed Motion carried unanimously. <br /> Request for Support for Handicap�,ed Program <br /> Village has received request for monetary support of a recreational program for <br /> mentally handicapped persons, sponsored by the Mounds View Parks and Recrea- <br /> tion Department. There are eighi' Arden Hills participants in the program, <br /> • suggestion is for $25 yearly for each participant. <br /> Committee Is interested in supporting the program, would like Buckley to deter- <br /> mine ( 1 ) actual total costs of the program, (2) future plans for the program, <br /> . (3) response from other affected cities to request for support, (4) other ways <br /> Arden Hills could be Involved on a co-sponsorship basis, I .e. recruiting <br /> volunteers, publicity, etc. <br /> Council Report <br /> - Arsenal Property. Mulcahy reported that the. Council had met with Congressman <br /> Vento and expressed Arden Hills' high interest in obtaining Arsenal acreage <br /> release from the Government. He suggested Committee and Council regularly <br /> convey Arden Hills' continuing Interest in the property to the proper authors <br /> ties, is confident that this is a future possibility. <br /> - Negotiations have begun with W. W. Grainger for park dedication; aim is for <br /> about $20,000 cash dedication. <br /> - Council has approved parking lot lease agreement with Control Data Corpora- <br /> tion. <br /> Winter Program Proposal <br /> Committee reviewed and approved proposed winter program schedule; suggested <br /> that "Perpe'ual Motion Dance" be idsntifled as advanced aerobics. Committee <br /> would like brief list of Skating Rink Rules Included In winter flyer if <br /> possible, received comments that misbehavior has been a problem in the past, <br /> every effort to correct this should be made. (Attached are copies of Rink <br />
