t <br /> Minutes of Regular Meeting or Parks and Recreation Committee <br /> Village of Arden Hills <br /> • July 18, 1977 <br /> Village Hall <br /> Call to Order <br /> The meeting was called to order at 8 :08 p .m. by Acting Chair- <br /> person R. O'Toole. <br /> Roll Call <br /> Present : R. Curtis , T. Glaros, S . Hustings , R. O'Toole , <br /> B. Schlotthauer <br /> Absent : M. Blomquist, C. Grudnoske , R. Lemke, J . Moore, <br /> M. Weitzman <br /> Also Present : Councilman C. Crichton , Parks Director J . Buckley <br /> Approval of Minutes <br /> It was moved by B. Schlotthauer ;, seconded by R. Curtis , that <br /> the minutes of June 14 be approved as malled . Motion carried <br /> unanimously . <br /> Pianninq Commission and Council Report <br /> • C. Crichton discussed the proposal an Insurance company has made <br /> for an office building on the Jurgenson property, and stated that <br /> the Council has approved rezoning the property to R-B, with a <br /> 100 foot buffer between that and the houses to the east. <br /> He will bring the Park Departments ' request for a change In the <br /> Comprehensive Park Plan to the Council elt its next meeting , <br /> the specific change to be requested is 1�or " 1 . b. Area #2 ( Lake <br /> Johanna East) . Th s is the one neighborhood where it will be dif- <br /> ficult to centrally locate one park site to serve the entire <br /> area. However-, ones site of about eight acmes north of County Road <br /> E coupled with the existing Freeway earl; and Lindeys Triangle <br /> will cover about I000 people within 1 /2 mile. An additional site <br /> of two to three acres will still be necessary toward the south <br /> end of the neighborhood. " <br /> Councilman Crichton also reported that negotiations for park fund <br /> dedication or land dedication ate proceodinq with Karth Lake <br /> Estates , Karth Lako Hills , and -the Bues ! ng property. <br /> Plans for Floral Perk have been approved by the Council , and work <br /> will begin the week of July 20. <br /> • <br />
