Councii September 22 . A lone discussion at the merits <br /> of the Self-Sustaining program, and Df the necessity of <br /> adding administrative _salaries to this portion of the <br /> • budgets was held. <br /> B) Summer Pro rem Report <br /> Dean Ekegren ` s report on the six week summer program in <br /> the parks was distributed . The committee felt the <br /> report was excellent , and attendance at the summer pro- <br /> grams very good. A suggestion was made that we attempt <br /> to establish liaison with the local .colleges ' physical <br /> education departments to help In staffing this program <br /> in future summers . <br /> C) Park and Recreation Director' s Annual pj)rt <br /> John Buckley presented the annual report as prepared . <br /> D) Letter to Slate HlghwaliDe�)artment R,;garding Tree Planting <br /> Alone Freeways <br /> M. Erickson made a motion , seconded 5y R. Cadwell , that <br /> we recommend that the Council send a latter to Kermi -- <br /> McRae , highway engineer `=or this area , stating that we <br /> would I i ke a comprehensive plan for landscaping andtree <br /> planting of the freeways rinning through Arden Hiiis . J . <br /> Buckley was asked to draft this letter and present it to <br /> the Council in completed form. <br /> • E ) Park Improvement Programs Report <br /> J . Buckley reported that the final g -ading is done at <br /> Perry Park. He Is in the process of getting bids from <br /> four different companies on relocating the lights . Eight <br /> different companies have been asked For bids on the <br /> bIacktopp1ng. At Freeway Park , bids have been received <br /> from five companies for bIacktopping and the cost will <br /> be within the budgeted amount . It w ` il be done within the <br /> next few weeks . The wooden climbing structure Is up and <br /> sand boxes In . Gri1is and picnic ta5ies have been <br /> ordered. <br /> Planning Commission <br /> J . McTavish reported can the status of the last Pemtom Addition . On <br /> the basis of this report ,, M. Erickson made a notion seconded by <br /> J . McTavish , asking that the Council give careful consideration <br /> that there be ample space and landscaping done by Pemtom in the area <br /> adjoining Village walking paths . <br /> Concerning the Round Lake area , J . McTavish reported that the <br /> Planning Commission would like an opinion from the Village attorney <br /> as to whether we , as a Village , could put conditions on the; land <br /> • <br />
