December 1 , 1987
t C. Wm. Lutterman
234 Bf-idge Street
Shoreview, M S512B
John Buckley
City of Arden Hills
Parks And Recreation Department
14SO W. Highway 96
Arden Hills, MN 55112
Dear John:
During a search for property in Arden Hills, I discovered
a small lot located on the west side of Old Hy S1 , eouth
of County Rd. E (PIN No. 34 30 23 22 0033 ). inquiries
reveal that the city of Arden Hills has title to -the
property which was designated as park land some time ago.
With the settlement of initial issues concerning the
Lindy's Triangle and the existence of the park on the
S.E. corner of Old Hy. 5l and County Rd. E, the need for
the original property as a park has changed.
While the size and slope of the lot make it well suited
as a homesite, these features tend to diminish its
usefulness as public property. If the City will consent
to sell the property for residential use, I would be
pleased to have the property appraised and to submit an
offer for consideration.
This proposal will benefit all parties--it provides
a worktable homesite and also an opportunity for
the City to use the property as a source of funds for
further development of existing parks.
I would appreciate any efforts you would make to expedite
a decision in this matter. Perhaps the council could
consider it at the meeting scheduled for the 14th of
December. Please keep me advised as to the progress of
this proposal ; I will plan to attend the council meeting
when the item is on the agenda.
Yours Truly,
Bill Lutterman
Ph 484-9527 (H)
535-6440 (W )
