Minutes of Regular Parks and Recreation Committee Meeting <br /> Village of Arden Hills <br /> • July 26, 1988 <br /> Village Hall <br /> Call to Order <br /> The meeting was called to order at 7:36 p.m. by Chair Sand. <br /> Roll Call <br /> Present: David Sand, Mary Gillies, Pat Green, Dorothy McClung, Jim <br /> Mishek, Tom Mulcahy and Jim Otto. <br /> Absent: Keith Enrooth, Don Messerly, Alan Montgomery, Mark Peterson, <br /> Tom Suedbeck. <br /> Also Present: Chuck Mertensotto, Finance Committee, Gary Berger, Clerk <br /> Administrator, Robert Woodburn, Mayor, and Parks Director <br /> John T. Buckley <br /> Approval of Minutes <br /> Motion was made by Otto, seconded by Mishek, that the minutes of March 22, <br /> 1988 be approved as submitted. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> Council Report <br /> Berger reported that Council approved the Joint Powers Agreement with <br /> Shoreview for the purchase of an Aerial Platform Truck to be used for fire <br /> protection purposes. <br /> • Council approved the installation of a semaphore at Hwy. 96 and Hamline <br /> Ave. <br /> Approved 1988 Summer pavement/management program for the Village. <br /> 1988 BUDGET PROPOSED REVIEW <br /> Buckley presented the 1989 proposed budget. <br /> Summer Playground: <br /> 1988 Budget $6,950. <br /> 1989 Budget $7,660 - Increase due to proposed raise in Supervisor and <br /> leaders salary. <br /> Mertensotto suggested that playground fees be raised from $7.50 to $10.00 <br /> to cover increase. McClung moved, seconded by Gillies that 1989 <br /> playground fees be raised from $7.50 to $10.00 to cover increase in <br /> program cost. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> Skating Ranks <br /> 1988 - Budget $32,230 1988 Est. 36,616 <br /> 1989 - Budget proposal $32,834 <br /> 1988-1989 Budget increase - <br /> small raise for rink attendants <br /> park maintenance employee reaching full salary <br /> . difference between 1988 Budget and 1988 estimate - Cost of <br /> removing/installing Cummings hockey rink. <br />
