Parks and Recreation Meeting <br /> Village of Arden i-i i I I s <br /> Tuesday - February 17, 1970 <br /> The meeting was called to order by Chairman Robert Bjorndahl . <br /> Present: Chairman Sjorrtdah & , Beggin , Cadwell , LaNasa, McIntosh, <br /> Sprat- and Wallace <br /> Absent: Kuehn, Lindbom and Boss <br /> Also present: Council Liaison Ronald Herrick <br /> Minutes of the January 20, 6970 meeting were read and approved. <br /> Mr . Herrick reviewed the progress being made concerning the new <br /> lighting for the Mounds View skating rink. Arden Hills will plan <br /> to pay $500 .00 toward this improvement . <br /> A need to clarify park regulations and scheduling of ice time <br /> was discussed by this Committee . A task force wiII be appointed <br /> to review these problems . <br /> A scale map of Valentine Park is being sent to Mr. Jacobson . <br /> Tax forfeited lands acquisition has not yet been completed. <br /> Property donation from Mr. Philip Sampson is delayed due to Mr. <br /> Sampson 's illness . <br /> Sieve Sawyer has completed making dispCay cases for the Pedestrian <br /> Trail maps . He will assemble and place them on the trail when <br /> the weather permits . A letter of thanks from Arden HiI1s has <br /> been mailed . <br /> Mr. Bjorndahl presented the Josephine Hillis Garden Club questio- <br /> naire to be sent to area residents concerning ingerson Park <br /> development. The Parks and Recreation Committee gave enthusiastic <br /> support to this project by the Garden Club . <br /> Herbert McIntosh made a motion, seconded by Jacqueline Spratt, <br /> to hire Mark Hurd to make aerial photographs of the Perry Park <br /> site as soon as the snow is gone . Mr . Herrick willl report back <br /> To this Committee concernina arrangements; motion carried unan- <br /> imousiy . <br /> Oral and written reports concerning picnic tables were submitted <br /> by Glen Beggin . Mr . Beggin was requested to obtain Information <br /> on ordering Tables . <br /> The possibility of wor°kinq with the Schooi 0isrrict to improve <br /> existing bzsebaf fiofd, is stiiI under consideration . <br /> • Next meeting wiIf', be March 17, 1970, 8:00 p .m . at the home of <br /> Herbert McIntosh, 1975 Jerrold Avenue . <br /> JacquePine Spratt <br /> Secretary <br />
