ARDEN HiLLS PARKS AND RECREATION COMMITTEE M NUTES <br /> Tuesday - April 14, 1970 - 8:00 p .m. <br /> 0A t the V i 9 1 age Hall <br /> The meeting was called to order by Chairman Robert Bjorndahl . <br /> Present - Chairman Bjorndahl , Beggin, Boss, Cadwell , LaNasa, Lindbom <br /> and McIntosh <br /> Absent - Kuehn and Wallace <br /> Also present - Council Liaison Ronald Herrick <br /> A planting plan for Valentine Park was distributed and discussed. It <br /> was decided to invite Peter Jacobson to the next meeting to discuss the <br /> suitability of some of the trees recommended for the area . <br /> Motion passed by the Committee that Phillippa Lindquist be recommended <br /> to the Council as a replacement for Jackie Spratt, who has resigned <br /> from the Committee. It was further suggested that Phiiliippa Lindquist <br /> be asked to serve as secretary to the Committee . <br /> Ronald Herrick reported that John Hollenhorst suggested that the Com- <br /> mittee contact the Metropolitan Council to see if they might be interested <br /> In acquiring some of our open space . This possibility will be discussed <br /> further at the next meeting. <br /> Motion passed by the Committee to recommend that the Village participate, <br /> If legally possible, in the summer recreation program for mentally <br /> etarded children which Is sponsored by the Roseville Recreation De- <br /> artment and the St. Paul Association for Retarded Children . This <br /> program is open to Arden Hills residents . <br /> It was reported that Jackie Spratt had contacted a contractor in regard <br /> to landfill that might be available for Perry Park. It was decided that <br /> the kind of fill was undesirable, so should not be used . <br /> Motion passed by the Committee that the Village purchase 6 picnic tables <br /> to be used for park areas from the Belson Company . The tables have <br /> wooden tops and seats which are fiberglass encased and have metal pipe <br /> frames . They are 8 feet long . Order number DW-800 PR, cost $87.50 <br /> each - 1969 prices . <br /> Motion passed by the Committee that the Village destroy the old house <br /> on the Ingerson Park property . <br /> It was reported that Banister Engineering Company wilt be doing a to- <br /> pographical map of Perry Park very soon . <br /> The next meeting will be May 119, 1970, at the home of Ruth Cadwell , <br /> 1386 Skiles Lane, at 8:00 p .m. <br /> Submitted by : Ramona Lindbom, Acting Secretary <br /> �c: Committee members <br /> Council members <br /> Mr. Lawrence McGough <br /> Attorney Vincent P.
