Parks and Recreation Meeting <br /> Village of Arden Hills <br /> Tuesday - January 20, 1970 - 8:00 P.M. <br /> The meeting was called to order by Chairman Robert Bjorndahl . <br /> Present: Chairman Bjorndahl , Boss, Cadwell , Kuehn, LaNasa, Lindbom <br /> Spra i-t, Beggi n and Herrick <br /> Absent: McIntosh and Wallace <br /> The minutes of the November 18, 1969 meeting were read and approved . <br /> All skating rinks are now in service . Ronald Herrick reported the <br /> need for better lighting at the Mounds View rink. <br /> Following discussion on the Perry Park site, Mr. Kuehn made a mo- <br /> tion, seconded by Mr . Boss, to recommend to the Council that they <br /> authorize the Parks and Recreation Committee to obtain a firm to <br /> do necessary surveys and maps of Parry Park, so major grading can <br /> be done in the spring; motion carried unanimously . <br /> Banister Engineering Company has quoted a fee of $100 .00 per acre <br /> to do the following: <br /> 1 . Topographic survey <br /> 2. Topographic plan <br /> 3. Topographic final plan <br /> 4. Grading plan <br /> It was estimated that 14 acres would be the area needed for 2 base- <br /> ball diamonds . <br /> Three ( 3) pieces of tax forfeited land are to be acquired as park <br /> area upon notice from the County . Mr. Philip Sampson has offered <br /> to donate land to the Village . The property is adjacent to the <br /> tax forfeited land on Lake Lane and the Pedestrian Trail . <br /> Several boy scout service projects were discussed. <br /> Decision to purchasa picnic -tables was held over pending further <br /> study . <br /> Ramona Lindbom made a motion, seconded by Tom LaNasa, to have Mr. <br /> Jacobson do a landscape map of Valentine Park; motion carried unan- <br /> imously . <br /> Robert Bjorndahl wit ; consult with Dr. Witter concerning the work <br /> needed at the Johanna Junior High baseball field. <br /> Next meeting will be February 17, 1970 , 8:00 p .m. , at the home of <br /> Jacqueline Spratt, 3208 Shorewood Drive . <br /> Jacqueline Spratt <br /> Secretary <br />
