0 f �� <br /> CITY OF ARDEN HILLS <br /> PARK AND RECREATION COMMISSION MEETING <br /> MINUTES, OCTOBER 24, 1989 <br /> Call to Order <br /> The regular meeting of the Arden Hills Park and Recreation Commission was <br /> called to order at 7:31 P.M. by Chairman David Sand. <br /> Roll Call <br /> Present: Chairman David Sand, Dorothy McClung, Don Messerly, Tom <br /> Mulcahy. <br /> Absent <br /> Keith Enrooth, 44ark -Pete Mary Gillies, Alan Montgomery, and Pattie <br /> Green. <br /> Also Present <br /> Councilmember Tom Mahowald and Parks Director John Buckley. <br /> MINUTE APPROVAL Minutes of the September 26 meeting were approved as <br /> mailed. <br /> COUNCIL REPORT Councilmember Mahowald reported: <br /> - Arden Hills entered into a purchase agreement with Kem Milling for <br /> their property in the Round Lake district. Price was $385,000. The <br /> City will be responsible for cleaning up the property and removing the <br /> building. <br /> - Arden Hills has entered an agreement with Shoreview to sell sewer and <br /> water service to the Arsenal for the Army Reserve Training Center. <br /> - Mahowald and Buckle reviewed Cook' s Continental Development proposed <br /> • y P P P <br /> park dedication. Mulcahy moved, seconded by Sand, that Parks <br /> Committee recommend the Council secure a cash dedication from Cook. <br /> Motion carried. <br /> PARK DEVELOPMENT PLAN/ The Committee reviewed the 10 year Park Develop- <br /> PEDESTRIAN TRAILS ment Plan and the pedestrian trail blacktopping <br /> DEVELOPMENT study. Committee members decided to continue the <br /> development study at the November meeting. <br /> PARK SURVEYS The Committee reviewed the Community Park Surveys <br /> - 1985 Arden Hills survey <br /> - New Brighton community survey <br /> - Shoreview community survey <br /> - Shakopee Park survey <br /> No action was taken. <br /> MISC. BUSINESS Mahowald reminded the Committee that the Council <br /> is seeking volunteers to serve on the new City <br /> Hall Committee. Park Committee members are encouraged to contact Mahowald <br /> if interested in serving. <br /> The Parks Committee has several positions open (Jim Otto and Jim Mishek <br /> . have moved out of the City) . Members are asked to give names of possible <br /> new members to Mahowald or Buckley. <br /> Meeting adjourned at 8:40 P.M. <br />
