CITY OF ARDEN HILLS <br /> PARK AND RECREATION COMMISSION MEETING <br /> • MINUTES, JANUARY 24, 1989 <br /> Call to Order <br /> The regular meeting of the Arden Hills Park and Recreation Commission was <br /> called to order at 7:30 P.M. by Chairman David Sand. <br /> Roll Call <br /> Present: David Sand, Mary Gillies, Dorothy McClung, Don Messerly, Tom <br /> Mulcahy and Pattie Green. <br /> Absent <br /> Keith Enrooth, Jim Mishek, Alan Montgomery, Jim Otto and Mark Peterson <br /> Also Present <br /> Mayor Tom Sather and Parks Director John Buckley. <br /> NEW MEMBERS: Chair Sand and Bucklev welcomed the new committee members <br /> and noted major concerns for committee consideration in <br /> 1989. They are: <br /> Trail Development <br /> Securing and Developing an Athletic Complex on the Arsenal <br /> Increase Program Development <br /> OATH OF OFFICE Mayor Sather lead the committee members in the Oath of <br /> Office. <br /> • COUNCIL REPORT Mayor Sather reported: <br /> Three candidates have applied for the one Council <br /> vacancy, Tom Mulcahy, Gary Peck, and Tom Mahowald. <br /> Council will be interviewing candidates on Thursday, <br /> January 26, and make an appointment at the January 30 <br /> Council meeting. <br /> Council is hiring a Financial Development consultant to <br /> assist in the finance and development of the Round Lake <br /> site. <br /> The Army Reserve Arsenal Training Center is still <br /> proceeding. The Army is planning to secure their utility <br /> service from Shoreview. <br /> North Suburban Soccer and Lake Region Hockey are <br /> investigating the possibility of financing and con- <br /> structing an indoor facility that can be used for hockey <br /> in the winter and soccer in the spring, summer and fall. <br /> Encouraged the Park Committee to work more closely with <br /> the Finance Committee for budgeting park and program <br /> services in the community. <br /> Open House for Robert Woodburn is scheduled for Tuesday, <br /> January 32, 4-6 P.M. at the City Hall. Encouraged <br /> committee members to attend. <br /> GARDEN The video of the 1988 Garden Recognition project has been <br /> VIDEOTAPE misplaced. The Committee will view the video at a later date <br />
