Benchmarks: A Review of Recent Council Action 3 May 9, 2022 City Council Meeting All items were approved unanimously by a 5–0 vote. • Proclaimed the week of May 11-17, 2022 as National Police Week in Arden Hills. This proclamation publicly salutes the service of the Ramsey County Sheriff’s Department, the law enforcement officers of our community and the service of law enforcement officers in communities across the nation. • Held a special assessment hearing and adopted the assessment roll for the Snelling Avenue North and Cummings Lane Street and Utility Improvement Project. • Adopted Term Sheet for Rice Creek Commons, a contractual agreement between the City of Arden Hills, and Alatus Arden Hills LLC, subject to a definitive Redevelopment Agreement by the City and Alatus. May 23, 2022 Special City Council Meeting Except where indicated, all items were approved unanimously by a 5–0 vote. • Approved the 2021 City of Arden Hills Financial Report and Audit Results. The auditors have issued an unmodified (“clean”) opinion on the City’s financial statements for the year ended December 31, 2021. • Accepted donation from the Arden Hills Foundation in the amount of $1,000 for gardening work done in Floral Park, given by Graco Corporation & resident Dan Dietz. • Passed a Resolution supporting the City of Arden Hills commitment to the Suburban Ramsey County Beyond the Yellow Ribbon Network, uniting the cities of suburban Ramsey County in support of service members, veterans, and military families. • Approved a Resolution providing Municipal Support Parks & Recreation Upcoming Events: Snake Discovery on June 21 Join us at Cummings Park at 10am to learn about reptiles and amphibians. The audience will get to watch a salamander eat, debunk turtle myths, and touch snakes, free of cost! Arden Hills' Bees Event on June 30 Join us for a presentation at 10am in Hazelnut Park where kids and parents alike can learn about Arden Hills’ bees! Bees are a vital part of our ecosystem. Bring your questions and bee ready for a great time! Penny Carnival on July 22 Gather up your change and celebrate the end of the 2022 Parks and Recreation Playground Programs at the annual Penny Carnival. Don't miss fun carnival games, face painting, a caricature artist and more, free of cost! Bark & Rec on July 30 Join the Arden Hills Parks and Recreation Department for the annual Bark & Rec Day at Perry Park from 1:00-3:00 p.m. Bring your dog to the off-leash area and make a fun craft your pet will love to wear. Free refreshments and snacks will be offered. Free of cost. Night to Unite on August 2 This annual statewide event will take place on Tuesday, August 2, 2022. It is designed to forge and strengthen bonds between citizens, businesses, and public safety organizations such as the Ramsey County Sheriff’s Office. To organize and register a Night to Unite event in your neighborhood, you can find inspiration, information, and materials at cityofardenhills.org/ unite for Ramsey County’s recommended roundabout improvement at the intersection of County Rd E and Old Snelling Ave planned for construction in 2023. The City and the County engaged in a community engagement process as part of the preliminary design effort to gather and consider public feedback for the proposed project. (Motion carried 3-2, Radziej, Holden opposed). • Approved the Site Plan Review for Baker Hostetler LLP on behalf of Saltbox to reconfigure the parking lot layout for tenants of the 113,000 square foot office and warehousing facility at 4440 Round Lake Road W. • Approved a variance to allow an addition onto the rear of the single-family dwelling located at 1152 Benton Way.
