AGENDA ITEMS
A. Roundabout Staging Discussion
Brian Johnson, SRF Consultants, and Joey Lundquist, Ramsey County, introduced
themselves to the City Council and said they were in attendance to provide an update regarding
the roundabout project at County Road E and Snelling Avenue.
Mayor Grant stated that the City is pursuing this project because of capacity which will improve
safety, especially during the PM hours, but it is not strictly because of safety. He said capacity is
the driver, not safety.
Ms. Lundquist concurred that there are no safety issue concerns currently at this intersection.
Mr. Johnson stated they are on track to finish the project's plans by end of year and could go out
for bids in early 2023, with construction starting in the spring of 2023.
Councilmember Holden stated that every time Ramsey County has a construction project in
Arden Hills, there are issues. She said that this project cannot be postponed.
The Council encouraged Mr. Johnson and Ms. Lundquist to do all they can to ensure the
various private utility companies and stakeholders have addressed potential issues so that the
project can stay on track and that there are no surprises.
