Public Works Director / City Engineer <br />SUBJECT: 2023 Capital Equipment Replacement — Unit 211 Crane Truck <br />Budgeted Amount: Actual Amount: Funding Source: <br />$100,000 (net) $122,205 Equipment Replacement Fund <br />(2023 CIP) (After estimated auction) <br />Council Should Consider <br />Motions to approve, table, or deny the following: <br />• 2023 purchase of a 2023 F450 Regular Cab 4x4 7.3L Gas Truck equipped with a <br />service body, hydraulic crane and hydraulic tool circuit in the amount of $122,205 <br />All items need a simple majority for action unless otherwise noted. <br />Background/Discussion <br />The 2023 Capital Improvement Plan (CIP) includes replacement of Unit 211, F-450 Crane <br />Truck. At the June 20, 2022 Work Session, Council discussed the 2022 CIP Equipment <br />Purchases. Through discussion Council noted recent delays for materials and equipment <br />deliveries due to supply -chain issues nationwide. Council requested that staff look into preparing <br />2023 CIP purchases, specifically Unit 211, as soon as feasible. <br />Public Works staff received quotes to build a new crane truck to replace Unit 211. The cab and <br />chassis price is approximate, quotes will not be available until October 27, 2022 and will need to <br />be ordered between the dates of November 71h — 10th, 2022. This is the only order window Ford <br />is offering for the 2023 model year for State -Contract pricing and would be locked in without <br />any increases next year if approved. <br />Page 1 of 2 <br />
