CONSENT ITEM — 7C ,-ARZEN HILLS MEMORANDUM DATE: November 14, 2022 TO: Honorable Mayor and City Councilmembers Dave Perrault, City Administrator FROM: Julie Hanson, Assistant to the City Administrator/City Clerk SUBJECT: Resolution Certifying the 2022 Municipal Election Canvass Results Budgeted Amount: Actual Amount: Funding Source: Council Should Consider Motions to approve, table, or deny the following: • Approving resolution 2022-050 certifying the 2022 municipal election canvass results. All items need a simple majority for action unless otherwise noted. Background/Discussion Members of the City Council are required by State Statute to certify the results of the Municipal Election to the Ramsey County Auditor within three (3) to ten (10) days after the general election. As of writing this memo, the Abstract of Votes Cast was not available from the Ramsey County Elections Office. When that information becomes available from Ramsey County Elections, staff will provide the Abstract as well as Resolution 2022-050 to the City Council and also update the public agenda packet as such on the City's website. If the Abstract of Votes Cast is not ready in time for the meeting, this item will be pulled from the agenda and a special meeting will be scheduled for approval. The following are results from the 2022 election: • David Grant as Arden Hills Mayor for a four-year term beginning in January 2023; • Emily Rousseau as Arden Hills City Councilmember for a four-year term beginning in January 2023; • Tena Monson as Arden Hills City Councilmember for a four-year term beginning in January 2023; and • Tom Fabel as Arden Hills City Councilmember for a special two-year term beginning January 2023.
