ARDEN HILLS PARKS TRAILS & RECREATION COMMITTEE 2 <br /> • Mr. Moore reported that ten percent (10%) of the surveys mailed had been returned and <br /> noted that Ingram & Associates had mailed 3,987 surveys. <br /> Mr. Moore reported the public works director had resigned and noted he would be <br /> helping to manage the department until a replacement is hired. <br /> Mr. Moore reported it had been suggested to him that a member of the Parks & <br /> Recreation Committee should serve on the newsletter committee. <br /> Mr. Moore handed out a list of roads within the City which designated county roads <br /> versus City roads. He then asked the Committee to remind residents of the difference <br /> between county and City roads. <br /> Mr. Moore reported he would like to institute a Wetland Health Evaluation Project <br /> (WHEP) in the City to be run by Park and Recreation through city residents and <br /> volunteer groups. <br /> Mr. Moore reported the spring and summer brochure is out. <br /> Mr. Moore reported the softball season is scheduled to begin Tuesday, April 24, 2001. <br /> • Mr. Moore handed out winter classes statistics. <br /> Committee Member Tix asked for more information on the County Wetland Health <br /> Evaluation Project. <br /> Mr. Moore explained he thought it would be a great way to get residents and civic groups <br /> involved in the protection and study of the City's wetlands which should, in turn,benefit <br /> overall water quality. <br /> 50TH DAY IN THE PARK UPDATE <br /> Mr. Moore reported planning for the 50`h Day in the Park is moving along well noting <br /> there was a meeting of the task force later in the week. He also reported there is a video <br /> spanning the 50 years in progress for showing during the celebration. He then <br /> complimented Council Member Aplikowski for efforts to coordinate the video. <br /> Mr. Moore reported the land parade is really taking off and this coming Thursday he <br /> would be meeting with the coordinator of the boat parade. He then asked that Committee <br /> Members mark their calendars for Saturday, June 23, 2001 to be available to take a short <br /> shift in a booth to answer questions and meet and greet residents. <br /> • <br />
