Most cities in Minnesota collect park dedication(either cash or land) from new subdivisions. The intent
of the dedication requirement is to make sure that new development provides adequate park and
recreation resources to meet the demand created by the new growth.
Arden Hills currently collects park dedication from new residential subdivisions. The city does not
require dedication from new commercial-industrial development.
Arden Hills should accept cash park dedication for development south of TH96, except when there is the
possibility and need to add land adjacent to existing parks. Park dedication north of TH96 (TCAAP)
should be in accordance with the Vento Re-use Master Plan.
REVIEW AND ELABORATE BASED ON DISCUSSION WITH T. MOORE
22
