Citv of Arden Hills Ordinance 336 Restrictions and Limitations of Water Use <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br /> CITY OF ARDEN HILLS <br /> ORDINANCE #336 <br /> AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 10, SECTION 1000.13, <br /> OF THE ARDEN HILLS CITY CODE <br /> RESTRICTIONS AND LIMITATIONS OF WATER USE <br /> 1000.13 Purpose <br /> The Director of Operations and Maintenance, in agreement with City Council, shall <br /> determine the minimal levels of municipal water supply necessary to adequately <br /> cover human consumption, sanitary purposes, and fire fighting purposes. The City <br /> Council may override any decisions made by the Director of Operations and <br /> Maintenance. Any municipal water supply less than the minimal levels established <br /> shall be considered a water shortage. When a water shortage is determined, water <br /> restrictions will be declared in order to ensure conservation of municipal water. <br /> Subd. 1 Water Restriction Notice <br /> A water restriction notice will be posted on the City bulletin board and in the <br /> official City newspaper. The water restriction notice may also be posted on • <br /> the City's website, cable television channel, or through local news broadcasts. <br /> Subd. 2 Water Restriction Rules <br /> The Director of Operations and Maintenance shall determine the hours, length <br /> of time, and properties affected each time a water restriction is imposed. The <br /> City Council may override any decisions made by the Director of Operations <br /> and Maintenance. <br /> Water restrictions will apply to sprinkling for yards, vegetable and flower <br /> gardens, filling of pools over 1 foot deep, car washing, hose spraying of yard <br /> or garden. Water restrictions will not apply to any indoor water uses. <br /> Subd. 3 Exception <br /> The watering restrictions will not include properties with private wells, or <br /> properties with new sod. New sod is defined as sod or seed placed within 3 <br /> months prior to first date of water restrictions. No other exceptions will be <br /> made. <br /> Subd. 4 Violation <br /> A. Each commercial and residential property owner, or tenant of a property <br /> owner, will have 24 hours from the first date of publication in the City's <br /> official newspaper to comply with the rules of the watering restriction. <br /> The water restriction notice will include the following: <br /> • Uses of the municipal water system which will be restricted <br /> #336— 1 <br />
