EN HILLS CITY OF ARDEN HILLS COUNTY OF RAMSEY STATE OF MINNESOTA RESOLUTION NO. 2023-008 RESOLUTION AFFIRMING ALLOCATION OF AMERICAN RESCUE PLAN ACT REVENUES WHEREAS, on March 11, 2021, the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 was signed into law; and WHEREAS,the City of Arden Hills,under the Act,received federal funding in the amount of$1,123,530, with receipt of the first payment in 2021 and the second half payment in 2022; and WHEREAS, under the Act, these funds can be used to replace lost public sector revenue and to make necessary investments in water and sewer infrastructure; and WHEREAS, it has been a priority of the City Council of the City of Arden Hills to repair and/or replace aging transmission and distribution water mains due to deterioration and being undersized to improve water pressure and prevent contamination due to leaks or breaks and to repair and/or replace aging pipes, pumps, values and control panels within the sewer system due to deterioration and to prevent backups; and WHEREAS, it is the understanding of the Arden Hills City Council that said improvements are eligible activities from proceeds of the American Rescue Plan Act. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Arden Hills,Minnesota,that it is the intent of the City Council to direct expenditures under the Act toward water infrastructure on the 2022 PMP Snelling Avenue Street and Utility Improvement Project and toward sewer infrastructure on the Lift Station 10 Rehabilitation Project. The costs eligible from March 3, 2021 to December 31, 2022 are $464,314 ($231,211 for water and $233,103 for sewer).
