Northeast Youth & Family Services is a nonprofit, community-based and trauma-informed mental health and community
services organization that has been serving your friends and neighbors in the northeastern suburbs since 1976.
We partner with 15 municipalities, three school districts, and six public safety agencies to provide comprehensive and cost-
effective care regardless of ability to pay. Our services include:
Mental Health Programs
Mental Health Clinics
Provides individual, couple, family, and group therapy for
people at all ages and stages of life at our Shoreview and
White Bear Lake clinics — telehealth too. We offer a variety
of evidence-based services such as child-centered play
therapy, art therapy, and specialized trauma treatments to
support clients’ healing.
School-Based Therapy
Provides mental health counseling and support to students
and their families throughout the Mounds View, Roseville,
and White Bear Lake area school districts. We work within
an embedded model, supporting the schools, administration,
and youth in need of care.
Many of the youth we serve are not able to access
traditional clinic-based services and would not receive help
without this program.
Day Treatment Program:
Northeast Therapeutic Services (NETS)
Offers on-site therapeutic support to middle and high school
youth who are struggling with mental health symptoms
that negatively affect their daily functioning. This program
supports youth to remain in the community while they receive
long term support for mental health. Educational services are
also available through Mounds View School District.
Community Service Programs
Community Advocate Program
Through partnerships with five local law enforcement
departments, this program co-creates public safety by
supporting citizens who have needs outside of the scope of
law enforcement. This can include mental and chemical health
issues, family instability, resource access, medical care, and
other needs. Addressing these underlying issues reduces the
need for law enforcement intervention in the future.
Youth Diversion
Youth who have justice system involvement, for example for theft,
disorderly conduct, or alcohol/drug use, can use this program
as an alternative to the traditional juvenile justice system. Using
restorative principles, we help youth address the incident and
potential harm caused, rebuild their lives, and get back on track.
Youth attend educational seminars with their parents, perform
community service, and if applicable, pay restitution.
Community Connections Program
A seven-week, group-based experience for youth that builds
social skills, self-confidence, and resilience through career
exploration, self-reflection, volunteer activities, and contacts with
other community service organizations. It is offered to youth who
would benefit from deeper and healthier connections with peers,
adults, and their community.
Our mission is to transform lives by ensuring access to care
that nurtures healing, cultivates community, and inspires hope.
LEARN MORE NYFS.ORG
Attachment C
