Lift Station Standby Generator Maintenance and testing. The standby generators are an important part <br />of the utility department in the event of a power outage. The generator located at the booster station/ <br />south water tower will run the pumps to fill the north water tower. The north water tower supplies <br />water to the north half of the city. The three remaining generators are used for sanitary sewer lift <br />stations, and city hall during a power loss. <br />x LS 8 and LS 11 both have standby generators stored onsite. There is also a mobile generator <br />stored at the PW Facility used for lift station emergencies. <br />x A monthly inspection and test run are completed by AHPW Staff. <br />x An annual multi point inception for the diesel engine and generator is completed with a 2-hour <br />load bank test buy an outside vendor. <br />Sanitary Sewer Root Treatment is a proactive approach to removing tree roots from the sewer system, <br />generally found in VCP pipe. The below map indicates the proposed areas where root treatment is <br />needed this year, based on historical treatments or new segments added found during last years <br />televising.
