ή Lowest floor. The lowest floor of the lowest enclosed area (including basement). An <br />unfinished or flood resistant enclosure, used solely for parking of vehicles, building access, <br />or storage in an area other than a basement area, is not considered a building's lowest <br />floor. (added 05/05/10) <br /> ή Manufactured home. A structure, transportable in one or more sections, which is built <br />on a permanent chassis and designed to be used as a dwelling with or without a permanent <br />foundation when connected to the required utilities, and includes the plumbing, heating, air <br />conditioning, and electrical systems contained therein; except that the term includes any <br />structure which meets all the requirements and with respect to which the manufacturer <br />voluntarily files a certification and complies with the standards established under this Code <br />and Minnesota State Statutes as amended from time to time. The term "manufactured <br />home" does not include the term "recreational vehicle." (revised 05/05/10) <br /> ή Manufacturing and processing. All uses which include the compounding, processing, <br />packaging, treatment, or assembly of products and materials. Generally, these are <br />industries dependent upon raw materials refined elsewhere. These uses include, but are <br />not limited to: fabrication of wood, metal, and plastic products; assembly of electronic <br />components, equipment, and appliances; processing of chemicals, plastics, food products, <br />and nonalcoholic beverages; manufacturing of clothing and textile products; distribution <br />centers, lumber yards, printing and binding shops, machine shops, sheet metal shops, sign <br />shops, contractor's shops and storage yards. <br /> ή Class I: Above uses without exterior storage. <br /> ή Class II: Above uses with permitted exterior storage. <br /> ή Metes and bounds. A method of property description utilizing directions and <br />distances commencing from and terminating at an easily identifiable point. <br /> ή Microbrewery. A facility that manufactures and distributes intoxicating malt liquor or <br />wine in total quantity not to exceed 250,000 barrels a year. A microbrewery may have <br />space dedicated as a taproom to distribute on-sale and off-sale alcohol in compliance with <br />MN state statute 340A.301, subd. 6b. (added 10/29/12) <br /> ή Microdistillery. A facility that manufactures and distributes premium, distilled spirits <br />in total quantity not to exceed 40,000 proof gallons in a calendar year. (added 10/29/12) <br /> ή Mineral extraction. The use of land for surface or subsurface removal of sand, gravel, <br />rock, industrial minerals, and other nonmetallic minerals not regulated under Minn. Stat. <br />Chapts. 93.44 - 93.51; or Successor Statutes. Mineral extraction does not include grading <br />and excavating as defined in this Chapter. (added 7/14/10) <br /> ή Mobile home. A manufactured home designed, constructed, and equipped for use as a <br />single-family dwelling, which has a width of less than twenty (20) feet over more than <br />twenty-five (25) percent of its length; or which is not placed on a permanent foundation <br />complying with the requirements of the state building code or which is not continuous and <br />solid for the entire perimeter of the structure.
