PUBLIC PRESENTATION — 4A <br />,iRZEN HILLS <br />MEMORANDUM <br />DATE: May 8, 2023 <br />TO: Honorable Mayor and City Councilmembers <br />Dave Perrault, City Administrator <br />FROM: David Swearingen, Public Works Director/City Engineer <br />SUBJECT: Proclamation Recognizing May 21-27, 2023 as National Public Works Week <br />Budgeted Amount: Actual Amount: Funding Source: <br />N/A N/A N/A <br />Council Should Consider <br />Adopting a Proclamation recognizing May 21-27, 2023 as National Public Works Week <br />in Arden Hills. <br />Background/Discussion <br />National Public Works Week is a celebration of thousands of men and women in North America <br />who provide and maintain the infrastructure and services collectively known as public works. <br />Instituted as a public education campaign by the American Public Works Association in 1960, <br />the weeklong celebration calls attention to the importance of public works. <br />This year's theme is "Connecting the World Through Public Works" for the National Public <br />Works Week poster. This year's poster illustrates how public works connects us all through <br />infrastructure and service, enhancing the quality of life for the communities these professionals <br />serve. <br />Our Public Works employees take great pride in their work.
