AGENDA ITEM — 3G
,-ARZEN HILLS
MEMORANDUM
DATE: May 15, 2023
TO: Honorable Mayor and City Councilmembers
FROM: Dave Perrault, City Administrator
SUBJECT: Juneteenth Discussion
Budgeted Amount: Actual Amount: Funding Source:
N/A N/A N/A
For Council Consideration
Council should consider providing direction on the Juneteenth Holiday.
Background
As of a few weeks ago, the State appeared likely to pass Juneteenth as an official holiday where no
public business could be conducted effective this coming June 19' (originally slated to be effective
next year). Assuming this goes through, Council would have had a worksession on this day but will
need to reschedule to June 20th. Assuming the State passes this legislation, Staff will move forward
accordingly (if the State does not pass anything we'll make the necessary changes for next year).
PTRC also would meet on June 20th, but may want to reschedule to have Council Liaison
availability.
Budget Impact
N/A
Attachment
N/A
