State Statute 340A.410, Subd. 3 states "In the case of the death of a
retail licensee to sell alcoholic beverages, the personal representative is authorized to continue
operation of the business for not more than 90 days after the death of licensee." Staff received copies of
documents submitted to the Secretary of State's office for the business and also a document showing
designation by the personal representative of Corporate Officers James Welsch and Kim Nelson, who
are applying for the liquor license on behalf of the business. Please note that staff has also worked
closely with our City Attorney throughout this process.
The City has received the necessary liquor license application materials (City application, State
application, background check authorization forms and a Certificate of Insurance).
