STATE OP MINNESOTA COUNTY OP RAMSEY CITY OF ARDEN HILLS Resolution No. 81-41 RESOLUTION ADOPTING A REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS FOR A CABLE COMMUNICATIONS SYSTEM FOR THE CITY OF ARDEN HILLS WHEREAS, the City of Arden Hills has resolved that the develop- aent of a joint cable television systea is in the best intere.t of the City, and -. WHEREAS, the City has received a study report assessing coaa~ni- cationa need., and ha. deterained to continue the c.ble franchising proce.., and WHEREAS, the City of Arden Hills haa participated in the North Suburban Cable Coaaission, and' WHEREAS, the Coaaission was delegated the responsibility to prepare' and adopt and did prepare and adopt a Request for Proposals (RFP) and a preliainary draft franchise ordinsnce for a cable coaaunicationa .ystea for the City of Arden Hills, along with the Cities of Falcon Heighta, Lauderdale, Little Canada, Mounds Viaw, New Brighton, North Oaks, Roaaville, St. Anthony and Shoreview, Minna- eota, and " ,. WHEREAS, the City is the franchisina authority, and WHEREAS, Section 4.140 (D) (1) of the Official Rules of the Kinneeota Cable Coaaunications Board requires that the franchisina authority ehall adopt in a publiC hearina the Request for Propo.ale, and WHEREAS, notice of said public hearing was publiehed in the official newspaper of the City of Arden Hills on June ll, 1981, and WHEREAS, aeabers of the public have been afforded a reasonable opportunity to be heard. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Arden Hills City Council as foltows: -. 1. The City of Arden Hills adopts the RFP and receives the draft preliainary franchi.e ordinance. 2. The RFP accoapanied by a ~raft of the preliainary franchise ordinance sball be issued by tbe Coa.iesion on behalf of tbe City of Arden Hills on or before July 1, 1981, and shall be on file in the Clerk Adaini- atrator's office of the City of Arden Hills. J. The City of Arden Hills hereby delegatea to tbe Coaais- sion tbe reaponsibility to perfora on behalf of the City all taaka incident to the isauance of the RFP as required by the Official Rules of the Minnesota Cable Coa.unications Board. 4. Tbe City of Arden Hills bereby delegates to the Co.aiasioD the responsibility to perfor. on behalf of tbe City all tasks incident to the receipt aDd evaluation of any pro- posals tece~ved by the Coaaission, to cul.inate in the recoa..ndatlon to tbe City by tbe Co..ission of a cable coapany end a final franchiae ordinance to be considered by the City 1n ita regular ordinance procedures. . .
