Public Works Director / City Engineer <br />SUBJECT: Old Highway 10 Trail Improvements — Design review and funding discussion <br />Budgeted Amount: Actual Amount: Funding Source: <br />$3,050,000 $4,072,616 PIR — Parks, MSA, <br />(Current Estimate) Ramsey County, Grant funds <br />Council Should Consider <br />Motions to approve, table, or deny the following: <br />• Request a proposal from SRF to apply for potential grant programs related to the <br />proposed Old Highway 10 Trial Improvement project. Each grant application is <br />approximately $7,000 in fees. <br />B ack2round/Discussion <br />In October of 2022, a feasibility study update was completed from a previous 2008 version of the <br />proposed project corridor. On June 12, 2023, City Council approved Professional Services with <br />Engineering Consultant, SRF, to complete a "Shovel -Ready" design to pursue potential future <br />funding opportunities. <br />SRF has produced plans considered 60%, the condensed version can be reviewed in Attachment <br />C, the actual plan set currently consists of 99 sheets. With grant application opportunities <br />approaching this Fall and over the Winter, SRF will be providing a presentation to City Council <br />an overview of the project, community engagement summary, they will highlight some of the <br />trail design features and their cost impacts, overall updated cost estimate (Attachment B) and <br />potential grant funding opportunities. <br />Pagel of 3 <br />
