Daily and Saturday peak
hour trips were not reported in the previous TIA.
CAR WASH VEHICLE QUEUE
As part of the data collection, a camera was set up to observe the queues entering the car wash. Video
was observed during peak periods to determine the impacts of the queuing on site. The results of the
observations are listed below.
x At the Maple Grove location, there are three entrance lanes. One unlimited VIP lane and 2
regular cash/card lanes. It was observed that 77% of customers utilized the unlimited VIP lane.
x The unlimited VIP lane had minimal wait time at the entrance gate.
x The maximum observed queue was 12 vehicles during the PM peak hour, 5 vehicles in front
of the car wash payment and 7 vehicles behind the car wash payment. The 7 vehicles were all
in the unlimited VIP lane. Queues dissipated quicky.
x The maximum queue in the regular cash/card lanes was up to 4 vehicles in either lane.

Based on the site plan, the proposed Crew Carwash in Arden Hills will have 4 payment lanes, with two
regular cash/card lanes and two unlimited VIP lanes. With each lane able to accommodate 6 vehicles
before impacting the site access or site circulation. Additionally, there is storage for about 9 vehicles
total in front of the payment stations. This results in a total stacking capacity of around 33 vehicles on
site. Based on the observed queues and the proposed site plan, it is anticipated that all queues during
typical operations can be accommodated on site without impacting the site access or adjacent
roadways.

For the XIC queue lanes, it is anticipated that 10% to 15% of vehicles that get a carwash will also utilize
XIC. This results in 11 to 17 vehicles in the Saturday peak hour utilizing the service. It takes
approximately 10 minutes to perform the service, with cars entering the building and a conveyor
slowly moving them from one end to the other. The service is able to clean up to 24 cars per hour,
