They are as follows: <br />• Increases in taxes (would fall under City Finances section above) <br />• Committees and Commissions (youth positions, number of volunteers) <br />• Food trucks and chicken permits <br />• Cannabis/THC <br />• NYFS <br />At this meeting, please assign topics to Councilmembers so Staff can work with that particular <br />Councilmember on their section(s). Council may want to add or remove topics from the list. That <br />should also be determined during this meeting. <br />The presentation slides will be shared electronically with the Council prior to the January 8 work <br />session. The slides are a first draft, and content will still need to be edited or added. Between <br />January 8 and February 2, Staff will work with Councilmembers to finalize their portions of the <br />presentation. The week of February 5 should be used to practice, with only minor edits being made <br />during that week. On February 10, the City Council will present live. <br />Council should also determine how, or if, they will take questions at the State of the City. If <br />questions from the audience are accepted, how should they be accepted? <br />• Submitted in advance <br />Take live at the end of the presentation <br />1:1 after the presentation concluded <br />Finally, Council should instruct Staff on what types of refreshments, if any, to provide at the State <br />of the City Address. In 2022 Boston Scientific catered a light continental breakfast. <br />Financial Impact <br />The budget for the State of the City is approximately $2,000.
