Some sections of the wet meadow <br />have also been invaded by purple loosestrife, which the state requires to be managed to prevent its spread. <br />Existing Conditions <br />By stripping the leaves at eye level, the initial <br />goat browsing has made it much easier to <br />see through the understory. That makes it <br />easier to move around to cut the saplings <br />and then the mature trees. Some sections <br />have been opened up enough that they <br />should be seeded as soon as possible… <br />ideally before January. But the browsed and <br />cut buckthorn is still alive and requires further <br />. management.
