<br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />ARDEN HILLS CITY COUNCIL REGULAR MEETING MINUTES <br />APRIL 8, 2002 <br /> <br />11 <br /> <br />Councilmember Grant stated, relative to TCAAP, they did not know if they could see the light at <br />the end of the tUllilel or if this was going to be a "long tUlmel" or a "short tunnel" at this point. <br />However, he stated they did not know if this was the right time to hire someone. <br /> <br />Councilmembcr Aplikowski stated if she could bc assured that there was a more equitable <br />division of responsibility atld compensation shc might change her mind. <br /> <br />ADMII\TSTRATOR COMMENTS <br /> <br />Mr. Lynch stated they were investigating the cost of blinds for the City Hall. He statcd when that <br />was put togcther; he would bring it back to the City Council for review. <br /> <br />Mr. Lynch stated Nestle Purina Pet Carc had sent the City a lettcr indicating they wcre closing <br />their Arden Hills facility, effcctive July, 2002. This decision will affect all 24 cmployees at the <br />facility. <br /> <br />COUNCIL COMMENTS <br /> <br />Councilmember Grant stated the Maintenancc Facility Task Forcc had met and they had a pretty <br />good idea of the facility size and what they would be willing to share with the County. He stated <br />the future focus would bc looking at financing options and a design/huild scenario and how thc <br />City could take part in that. He stated as hc received more information he would prcsent it to <br />Council. <br /> <br />Councilmember Larson asked if they werc going to do anything with the sign age prior to the <br />Open House. He suggested they gct rid of the temporary sign for this event. <br /> <br />Councilmember Larson requested staff preparc a memorandum that grouped the major TCAAP <br />proposals and their respective tea.t11 mcmbers. <br /> <br />Councilmembcr Larson stated he had sent a Resolution regarding Charlie Peck, \vho was a long <br />serving mail delivery man in the City and who passed away last week. He indicated it would be <br />nice to memorialize his servicc to the City as well as scnd a copy to his family and co-workers. <br /> <br />Councilmember Larson stated they had a recent Parks, Trails & Recreation mceting, and had <br />requested them to prioritizc the capital improvements. <br /> <br />Councilmember Aplikowski stated thc events committee was meeting this week and she thanked <br />Pam Sweeney and Michellc Olson for all of their hard work. She stated the "Day in the Park" <br />planning was coming along. She requested staff look into the possibility of pi acing some type of <br />backing on the Council nameplatcs so they can be read bettcr. <br /> <br />Councilmember Rem suggested they send TCAAP partics a grid to be filled out so the <br />infomlation Council reccived would be consistent. She asked for research on looking at othcr <br />formats for the Perfomlance Review process. She stated she would be willing to gct some <br />information together for a review proccss with the City Administrator's assistancc. <br />
