<br />ARDEN HILLS REGULAR CITY COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES <br />JULY 29, 2002 <br /> <br />4 <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Mr. Brown stated sincc they had received bids, the bids camc in a bit above the <br />engineer's estimated cost, so the City would be bearing more of the cost for this <br />project. <br /> <br />Dcnnis Munson, 1144 Waldon Place, stated he had 85 frontage feet and it <br />appeared he was paying more than others and he asked for an explanation. Mayor <br />Probst explained this was a cul-de-sac lot and thcre was a different calculation <br />used for cul-de-sacs. <br /> <br />Mr. Munson asked if it was in the plan to dredge the ponds in the area to improve <br />drainage. The City Enginecr indicated they would be looking at those ponds to <br />determine if there was a drainage problem. He stated there was some dredging <br />proposed as a part of thi s proj ect. <br /> <br />Brenda Goldman, 1146 Waldon Place, asked what hcr front footage was. The City <br />Engineer stated it was 103.45 and the actual platted tfont footage was 47 to 50 <br />feet. <br /> <br />. Mayor Probst explained the logic behind the policy was that on longer cul-de-sacs, <br />the expense would be n011l1alized among all of the property owners. He stated this <br />policy had been in place for years. <br /> <br />Ms. Goldman asked when the project would be started. The City Engineer stated it <br />would not start until August 19 with final completion of October II. <br /> <br />Council Member Larson requested staff provide the residents with a copy of the <br />assessment policy. <br /> <br />Mr. Bujold requested after the drainage issue was addressed by the Operations and <br />Maintenance Department, and it was determined a drainage problem, that this be <br />fixed at thc same time the street was torn up. <br /> <br />Mayor Probst closed the Public Hearing at 7:37 p.m. <br /> <br />i. <br />
