<br />ARDEN HILLS REGULAR CITY COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES <br />NOVEMBER 12,2002 <br /> <br />4 <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Council Mcmber Rem requested the information presented tonight be placed on <br />the City's website. <br /> <br />Jim Paulet, 1285 Wvncrest Court, statcd he represented the neighborhood group <br />that worked with Guidant. Hc indicated the neighborhood group consisted of <br />residcnts of the Wyncrest Neighborhood, which is located directly north of the <br />Guidant Property. lIe stated the group had come together after attending the open <br />meeting held on March 7, 2002, when Guidant unvciled thcir campus plan. At <br />that time, they had many concerns that ineluded traffic, building heights, location <br />of Fernwood, and the notification requirements that were in place. He stated they <br />had requested and Guidant agreed to meet with the neighborhood. He stated over <br />the sUl11mer they held five meetings, which they felt were very productive. He <br />noted Guidant was willing to listen and respond. He indicated the resulting <br />compromises were significant and was something both Guidant and neighbors <br />could live with. Hc requested a copy of the AUAR study. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Pat Krenn, 1230 Wvncrest Court, stated based on the past experience, he <br />requested that storm water running from the Guidant property not be drained into <br />Karth Lake. <br /> <br />Ed Robinson, 1370 Colleen Avenue, stated his concern was how this proposal <br />was going to impact traffic in the City. He noted Guidant was an exccllent <br />neighbor and he did not want to oppose the expansion, but he did have a concern <br />regarding the roads not being able to handle the increase in traffic. lIe noted there <br />were no proposals for bus stops, park and ride areas, or bus shelters. He stated <br />Guidant was not encouraging their employees to car pool or take public transit, <br />which he believed, would impacted the City with severe congestion over time. He <br />statcd the Zoning Codes did not relate to the kind of congestion problems they <br />wcre facing at this time. He asked if Guidant could avoid spending some of the <br />money they were proposing to spend on parking ramps and instead, work with the <br />Metropolitan Council to encourage their employees to use public transit. He asked <br />if the City would be better off by accommodating Guidant, with respect to thc <br />traffic. <br /> <br />Gene Scales, 4136 James Circle, asked if the AUAR comments cmdd be <br />. extendcd a couple of days. <br />
