<br />ARDEN HILLS REGULAR CITY COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES <br />NOVEMBER 12, 2002 <br /> <br />8 <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Roseville to the City of Arden Hills was broken. He indicated the broken meter <br />was 31 years old and it could not be repaired. He noted the other meters were of <br />the same age and were also showing signs of failing. He noted he had been <br />informed this evcning that a second meter had now also failed. He stated the City <br />of Roseville could not accurately read the amount of water they were sending to <br />Arden Hills and werc cstimating the billing. He stated City staff and the City of <br />Roseville agreed that all three meters should be replaced at this time. He noted <br />there would be an economy of savings if all three meters were purchased and <br />installed at the same time. He noted both City staffs had lookcd at and accepted <br />bids from three different meter vendors. The low bidder was Mid America Meter, <br />Inc. of Minneapolis for $38,000.00. He recommended approval of the bid with the <br />funds to be taken out of the Water Utility Enterprise Fund. Staff was <br />recommending the replacement of all three meters. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />MOTION: Council Member Grant moved and Council Member <br />Aplikowski seconded a motion to replace the three water <br />meters that monitor the water flow fl'om the City of Roseville <br />to the City of Arden Hills at a cost not to exceed $38,000.00, <br />with the funds for this projcct being taken from the Water <br />Utility Enterprisc Fund. The motion carried unanimously (5- <br />0). <br /> <br />B. <br /> <br />Payment to Derrek Hames <br /> <br />Mr. Moore explained at the August 12, 2002 Council meeting, the Council <br />unanimously voted to approve the purchase and installation of 20 park signs from <br />Vacker Sign Company. Staff asked Mr. Hames, the designcr of the City's logo, if <br />he would assist with this project. Staff rccommendcd payment of $475.00 to Mr. <br />Derrek Hames for his work in the development of the new Arden Hil1s Park <br />Signage and that this money be taken out of the Park Fund. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />MOTION: Council Member Larson moved and Council Member Grant <br />seconded a motion to authorize payment of 8475.00 to Oerrck <br />Hames for his work in the development of the new Arden Hills <br />Park Signage and that this money be to be taken out of the Park <br />Fund. <br /> <br />Council Member Larson suggested Mr. Hames be profiled in the City's newsletter. <br />
