r
POLLUTION: It was mentioned by one of the commissioners that the air quality, dust, and other
pollutants would increase ---- especially if 500 additional units were located on the southwest
corner of the property. Think about the health of the residents.
ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT: With such a large piece of property being developed in an area that
has both "concerned and threatened" species of plants and animals, it's difficult to imagine the
impact this development will have on the environment. Minimizing this impact is critical. We
pride ourselves with the parks, trails, and green space we have in Arden Hills. Let's not lose that
vision.
In conclusion, I believe that developing the Rice Creek Commons area could be a valuable asset
to Arden Hills. However, it's important to remember that this project will not only impact new
residents, but it will also have a huge impact on the current residents who have called Arden
Hills their home for many years. There needs to be more research and discussion into the issues
surrounding this project. I strongly feel that the addition of 500 more units in the southwest
corner of the project is NOT worth the potential negative ramifications it could create. I realize
that the developer and some people want to get this project started. However, even after years
of discussion and debate, it's obvious that there are still important and serious issues that need
to be addressed.
Thank you all for your hard work in making Arden Hills a wonderful place to call home. Let's
keep that vision in mind as this project moves forward.
Warm regards,
Claire Palmer
