Public Works Director / City Engineer <br /> <br />SUBJECT: Old Highway 10 Trail Improvements – Federal Safe Routes to School Grant <br /> Application <br /> <br /> Budgeted Amount: Actual Amount: Funding Source: <br /> $3,050,000 $4,072,616 PIR – Parks, MSA, <br /> (Current Estimate) Ramsey County, Grant funds <br /> <br />Council Should Consider <br /> <br />Motions to approve, table, or deny the following: <br /> <br />• Resolution 2023-060 authorizing the City to submit a 2024 Regional Solicitation Safe <br />Routes to School Infrastructure grant application related to the proposed Old Highway 10 <br />Trial Improvement project. <br /> <br />Background/Discussion <br /> <br />In October of 2022, a feasibility study update was completed from a previous 2008 version of the <br />proposed project corridor. On June 12, 2023, City Council approved Professional Services with <br />Engineering Consultant, SRF, to complete a “Shovel-Ready” design to pursue potential future <br />funding opportunities. <br /> <br />At the November 27, 2023 Council Meeting, City Council reviewed the 60% design plans along <br />with the updated cost estimate and approved moving forward with applying to the Federal Safe <br />Routes to School (SRTS) Grant Program. Resolution 2023-060 is provided as Attachment A. <br /> <br />Budget Impact <br /> <br />The Old Highway 10 Trail Improvements project is in the proposed 2024-2028 CIP and <br />tentatively scheduled for 2025 construction, project funding would be derived from the City’s
