Page 1 of 2 <br />CONSENT ITEM – 8N <br /> <br />MEMORANDUM <br /> DATE: December 11, 2023 <br /> <br />TO: Honorable Mayor and City Councilmembers <br /> Dave Perrault, City Administrator <br /> <br />FROM: Julie Hanson, Assistant to the City Administrator/City Clerk <br /> <br />SUBJECT: 2024 Fee Schedule <br /> Budgeted Amount: Actual Amount: Funding Source: <br /> $ $ $ <br /> Council Should Consider <br /> <br />Motion to approve, table, or deny the following: <br /> <br />• Adopting Ordinance 2023-018 Approving the 2024 Fee Schedule and Authorizing <br />Publication of a Summary Ordinance. <br />A Summary Ordinance requires a 4/5 vote. <br /> <br />Background/Discsussion <br /> <br />The draft 2024 Fee Schedule was provided to the City Council at its worksession on November <br />27, 2023. The City Council was in agreement regarding the proposed changes as submitted at the <br />workession but provided additional direction to increase the fees for tobacco violations. Staff <br />proposes the following: <br />Current Proposed 2024 <br />1st Offense $300 $600 <br />2nd Offense (w/in 36 mos.) $600 $1,200 <br />3rd Offense (or any <br />subsequent violation within 36 <br />mos. of initial violation) <br />$1,000 <br />and not less than a 7 day <br />suspension and may be revoked <br />$2000 <br />and not less than a 7 day <br />suspension and may be revoked <br /> <br /> <br />The City Council enacted an interim ordinance (moratorium) relating to tobacco at its meeting on <br />November 27, 2023; therefore, staff will continue to study tobacco licensing during the <br />moratorium. Please note the above-referenced fees could be amended again at such time the City <br />Council provides further direction on this. <br />
